The award-winning short film, Wednesday, by Andrew O’Keefe is one of his earliest collaborations with actor Lee Mason. Produced in 2001, it’s Andrew’s graduating short film from the VCA School of Film and Television.

Wednesday screened in numerous international short film festivals including the BFI London Film Festival, the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and the Munich Short Film Festival. In Australia, the film won the ‘Best Film’ award at the 2001 Canberra Short Film Festival, Manly Screenworks and the Kensington Short Film Festival.

After a successful festival run, Wednesday was purchased for broadcast in the USA.FESTIVAL LAURELS

Andrew O’Keefe and actor Lee Mason met at the VCA School of Film and Television in Australia and made some earlier films together before Wednesday came together. They have collaborated on a further three short films and two feature films, including 2006’s The Independent and 2016’s Crime & Punishment.

Cinematography was by VCA classmate James Teh, now an internationally recognised TVC director/cinematographer.
